The results may cause some surprise
This is a list that car brands don’t even want to hear of. The “Consumer Reports”, a North-American magazine specialized in guides and product comparisons, made a list of what they believe to be the less reliable cars of the moment. The results are definitely surprising.
The organization, founded in 1936, doesn’t work with adds and survives only from their readers subscriptions. Their reviews are not only restricted to cars. They also test all other kinds of products, from vacuum cleaners to hair dryers.
This year “Consumer Reports” points out the models that have been giving the biggest problems to their owners, or in other words, the less reliable to be sold in the North-American market.
The list brings a lot of surprises and some of the cars are even sold in the European market. That’s the case of Fiat 500L, Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus and the Jeep Renegade. Tesla Model X, another popular model, is also stated in this list. However, the worst of them all is one of the most desirable models in the United States – the Cadillac Escalade.
Regarding the most commercialized models in Europe, “Consumer Reports” says that Fiat 500L shows some electronic and transmission problems, while Ford Fiesta suffers with gearing issues, interior noise and insufficient space in the back seats.
Ford Focus, another model that is a success in Europe, is included in the list for the exact same reasons as the Ford Fiesta, besides, it also presents too much vibration while driving.
According to the magazine, the Jeep Renegade was included in the list due to problems related to the transmission and radio systems, along with the delicate handbrake and abrupt action of the 9 speed automatic gearbox.
The Tesla Model X failures focus on the “gull wing” back doors, and the issues with the central locking and acclimatization systems.
