Prodrive, accountable for the development of the Mini WRC and the Subaru Impreza WRC, will build and develop the latest addition to the World Rallycross Championship, the Renault Mégane RX.
The Mégane RX will have the Mégaxe IV has its basis and will be designed and developed by Prodrive, including the 2-liter engine, with around 600 hp, alongside the French pilot Guerlain Chicherit.
“Competing in the FIA World Rallycross Championship has been an ambition of ours”, David Richards, the president of Prodrive, has said.
“It is the world’s fastest growing competition and gives us the opportunity to use all our engineering experience in order to create a car capable of winning a world title”, he added.
On Guerlain, Richard says that he “obviously is a very talented driver and we are looking forward to working with him, developing a racing car that will make him and Renault proud.”.
The Renault Mégane RX Supercar will be launched at the World RX event in Lohéac, France, in September, competing for the first time ever in the 2018 season.
