Michael Jordan tops the list
Michael Schumacher, who is currently recovering from the accident he suffered in 2013, is the 5th highest-earning sportsman throughout his career, solely behind Michael Jordan and three golf starts, Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus.
According to Forbes, the former driver of Mercedes and Ferrari, a seven-time world champion, earned something around one billion dollars (926 million euros, 821 million pounds) throughout his career. Jordan has reached something close to 1,7 billion dollars (1,4 billion pounds).
Schumacher beat stars from other sports, such as Kobe Bryant (basketball), Floyd Mayweather Jr. (boxing), Phil Mickelson (golf), David Beckham (football) or Shaquille O’Neal (basketball).
The German is, as a matter of fact, only one of the seven non-Americans among the 20 who “profited” more. In motorsports, Jeff Gordon is the second on the list, the legendary NASCAR driver.
