Lucid Motors’ Lucid Air electric car hit the impressive 378km/h (235mph) mark during a test.
The Lucid Air reached 378 km/h (235mph) during tests conducted at the oval track of the Transportation Research Center in the United States. The electric, in this version also known as Alpha Speed Car, reaches 1000 hp of power, charged by two electric motors – although the base version reaches the market with only one propeller, offering powers in the order of 400 hp – requiring only 2.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph).
In the base version, of about 400 hp, the estimated autonomy is 386 kms (240 miles) between loads. In an optional package, this range increases to 643 km (400 miles). This is the reference of Lucid Motors to rival the Tesla, especially as an alternative to the Model S.
In the test in question, where the Lucid Air reached 378 km/h (235mph) , the speed limiter that prevents the car from exceeding 350 km/h (217mph) was deactivated.
