Almost six decades later a car with North-American specifications was registered in Cuba.
In a country where the automobile lanscape is one of the most peculiar in the world, with machines that excel the longevity thanks to their owner’s improvise, Infiniti made it possible a return to Cuba.
In practice, besides the Q60, a sports coupé specificaly desgined to the USA market, this was also the return of Alfonso Albaisa, Infiniti’s design executive director, to Cuba and visit the place where his parents were born.
Alfonso, who manages the design of all studios from Japan, grew up in Miami, USA, being this his first oportunity to visit his parent’s country. It was also the first time that he was able to apreciate the arquitecture of his great-uncle Max Borges-Recio, including the Tropicana, the Nautic Club and Borges Recio’s own house.
With a 2.0 turbo engine of 208 HP or a V6 of 3.0 bi-turbo of 300 HP or even 400 HP, the coupé ended up being calling dozens of Cubans who do not have great possibilities to see these contemporary models.
