The new Audi A8 will feature a foot massager. Only for the back seats, of course.
Audi continues to raise expectations on the upcoming A8, which will be revealed as early as July 11th. The latest revelation is that the top of the range will feature a foot massager for the back seat occupants. The “treat” will be available as an option and only in the A8L long version.
The announcement of this new and unusual equipment was made through a video centered on the future A8L, the long version (hence the “L”), which promises in this way to take occupants comfort to the extreme.
In the video, you can see that the system is installed in the back of the front seats. Once activated, it shows a small support base so that the “user” can extend the legs and put the feet in the electric panel responsible for massaging the feet.
The system, which is part of a package Audi calls the “Relaxation Seat”, can be regulated through a central console with touch screen for the back seats. In the same touch screen, the occupants can also regulate the layout of the seats or even the air conditioning.
True technology showcase, the A8, moreover, will have level 3 autonomous driving technology, that is, capable of driving alone, accelerating and locking without human intervention.
It will be able to park by itself and drive with the combustion engine switched off at speeds between 55 and 160 km/h, and from the moment the driver takes his foot off the accelerator.
