The problem can cause a fire.
The are 1.453 Aventador that Lamborghini will collect in the United States due to the risk of fire. The decision arose after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) found a defect on the fuel pipe that can cause a fire.
In a statement, NHTSA, mentions that “In certain driving conditions when the vehicle has a full tank, the gasoline can come in contact with the exhaust system”. Along with “specific manoeuvres”, such as “accelerations, that raise the rotation above the limit”, there is a risk of gas combustion.
The American authorities alerted, in the same article, to the fact that this can “increase the risk of fire”.
The models manufactured between May 22, 2011, and December 5, 2016, are affected by this risk. Also, the 12 Veneno models are enclosed in this collection. Only the Aventador S and Aventador SuperVeloce will stay as these already have a drain valve.
