Bold vision of a safer competition
Here it is. Renault introduced the R.S 2027 in the Xangai Hall, the concept that points the vision of the manufacture to the future of the Formula 1 races in ten years’ time – as we had released.
The R.S. 2027 vision intends to be the result of 40 years of experience of Renault in F1 (that in 2027 will be 50) in direction to a more secure competition… and more electric. And more «centred in the human» with a transparent cockpit as well as the pilot helmet.
The cockpit is covered – as a plane – by a transparent window made by a polycarbonate « ultra resistant » with a continued safety by an autonomous mode in the car that will be activated in case of a race accident.
The French concept is distinct not only by the bold lines – that maintains the lights in a C shape of the recent production models – however, in detail, by the LED lights on the wheels and on the mobile parts of the active wings of the car. And for proportioning spectators access to the telemetry data.
The R.S. 2027 will have its four wheels motorised and directional and will be propelled by batteries of «very high energy» reducing the fuel tank to half and possessing of a full electric mode to use in the pit lane.
Wanting «to anticipate the future of Formula 1» and thinking about the maximum of adepts, Renault Sport Racing expects « to generate a discussion inspired by the race community, adepts and enthusiasts through this concept that underlines the ideas and desires» from the brand, as its director Cyril Abiteboul referred.
