Special edition is not allowed to circulate on public road
It has production limited to only 750 units, but is not allowed to circulate in the public road. The HP4 Race is the “customer” version of the BMW S1000RR that contests the World Championship of SBK and will cost about 80 thousand euros.
This motorcycle, created for track-day enthusiasts, stands out for the use of carbon fiber in components such as rims, fairings and, most importantly, frame and sub frame. The result is a weight of only 171 kg ready to roll.
This number is compared to the 167 kg of the Ducati 1299 Superleggera, which has the advantage of using a carbon fiber oscillating monoblock and can be registered, something that the BMW track gun can not.
The engine chosen is a unit that BMW claims to be world-class SBK and which delivers 215hp at 13,900 rpm, with the maximum torque of 120 Nm at 10,000rpm.
The instrument panel is supplied by 2D and includes a “datalogger” for the telemetry system. It has a DTC and 15-level adjustable motor brake level, anti-wheelie control, launch control and pit-limiter.
