Did anybody say that electric motorcycles cannot have style, performance and an affordable price? Vigo is a fully electric supersport bike, which announces a range up to 640 km (397 mi), a weight of only 160 kg (353 lbs) and an estimated price around 9.200€ (7.887£).
If this is not enough to convince you, what about its 120hp of power, allowing you to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph (0 to 60 mph/h) in just a bit more than 3 seconds, reaching a top speed of 290 kph (180 mph) (yes, you have got this right: around 300 kph (186 mph).
As for its batteries, Vigo Motorcycles (not related with the homonymous Spanish city) begins by saying that these have a useful life of about 400.000 km (248.548 mi). The charging takes between 7 to 12 hours in wall outlets (20 to 30 minutes if connected to a quick charging station).
The secret to these numbers and performance can be found in a battery pack with a capacity of 21 kWh, which instead of being made in lithium-ion, rely on a new and innovative technology. That is why they can reach an autonomy of up to 640 km (397 mi).
Sound-wise, Vigo Motorcycle reveals that it’s working on a system that will grant this supersport the ability to emit a sound that meets the expectations of those who love supersport bikes.
The price of 9.400€ (8.059£) can be lowered to 7.050€ (6.044£) for all those who are willing to participate in the project funding of Timothy Sergeev. The first units will probably hit the tarmac in September. In just over five weeks since it is online, more than 7000 people have accepted to “sponsor” the project, showing that this bike can become a success story.
